Meet the gel

Your filter’s new teammate.

Your DNA filter captures airborne particles. The gel is being developed for lingering household odours. If your system can use Ductair DNA filters, it can use the gel. Placement and replacement instructions will be included at launch.

Household odour questions

Help with household smells

Choose a question for practical advice on cooking, pet and air-conditioning smells.

How can I reduce lingering cooking smells at home?

Start with the source and ventilation. Use a kitchen exhaust that vents outdoors while cooking, and ventilate when outdoor air quality, weather and safety allow. An odour-care product is an extra consideration, not a replacement for dealing with the source.

Where should I start with pet smells in the house?

Look for the source first, including pet bedding and the places your pet spends time. Clean suitable surfaces according to their care instructions. Treating a recurring source is a more useful starting point than adding fragrance to the room.

EPA: why source control comes first ↗

Why does my house smell when the ducted air conditioning is on?

The smell alone cannot identify the cause. Note whether it is strongest near a vent, whether it appears only while the system runs, and whether it persists. Ask a qualified air-conditioning technician to investigate a recurring system-related smell rather than assuming an odour product will fix it.

Will replacing my return-air filter remove household odours?

A particle filter and an odour-control product have different jobs. Ordinary particle filtration does not remove all gases responsible for smells. Keep to your filter-care guidance, but do not assume a new particle filter will solve a persistent household odour.

What should I do about a persistent musty smell?

Investigate the source, particularly signs of moisture or water damage. A musty smell can warrant further investigation even when the cause is not visible. The upcoming Ductair gel is not being presented as a treatment for mould or a substitute for fixing dampness.

Is an odour absorber the same as an air freshener?

Do not judge by the name alone. Check what a product is designed to do, whether it adds fragrance, and the evidence for its odour-removal claims. Ductair’s gel is still in development: its confirmed mechanism, options and usage guidance will be shared before purchase.

General guidance draws on the linked US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) resources. These sources do not endorse Ductair or verify the performance of the gel. For filter replacement advice, see the Ductair Filter Care Guide.
